The psychoanalytic path leads through the symptoms that disturb us, through inner maps, dreams, and above all, through free association towards a capacity for immediate enjoyment.

Human relationships can always be formed anew, as long as desire remains in motion. It is only through encountering the other that we begin to understand ourselves.

Psychoanalysis is cultural work (‘Kulturarbeit’) – not unlike the draining of the Zuider Zee.
